In its capacity as the Secretariat of the Aswan Forum for Sustainable Peace and Development, the Cairo International Center for Conflict Resolution, Peacekeeping and Peacebuilding (CCCPA), convened a closed roundtable on the margins of the Munich Security Conference 2026 titled “A Sea of Opportunity: Security and Development Across the Red Sea.”

The discussion explored the Red Sea’s potential through an integrated peace, security, and development perspective, building on insights from the Forum’s fifth edition and the Aswan Report. It emphasized strengthening regional cooperation and leveraging the region’s strategic importance to transform risks into opportunities for stability, integration, and sustainable development.
