A PLATFORM FOR MEANINGFUL PARTICIPATION

FROM BEING SPOKEN ABOUT TO SHAPING THE CONVERSATION.

Across Africa, young people experience the effects of conflict, displacement, climate change and rapid technological shifts. They are also organising, mediating, innovating and helping theircommunities adapt.

Since its launch in 2022, the Aswan Forum Youth Dialogue hashelped move the conversation beyond seeing young people onlythrough the lens of vulnerability. It recognises youth as agents ofpeace and resilience—and as partners in designing responsesthat reflect the realities of their communities.

Convened as an integral pillar of the Aswan Forum forSustainable Peace and Development, the Dialogue brings youthtogether with policymakers and decision-makers from Africa, theArab region and beyond. Its purpose is not simply to make spacefor youth voices, but to help those perspectives inform regionaland global peace and security policymaking.
